Why It Matters

The Detail That Lifts a Room

Coving and cornice soften the join between wall and ceiling and give a room a finished, considered look — especially in period homes where it's part of the character.

We get the lines straight and the corners sharp, fill and caulk neatly, and leave it ready for paint so the detail really stands out.

Coving & Cornice FAQs

Can you match existing cornice in a period home?
Often yes — we can take a profile of your existing cornice and run or source a match to repair a damaged section or carry it into a new room, keeping the character intact.
Do you supply the coving?
We can supply and fit, or fit coving you've chosen — plaster, lightweight or ornate. We'll talk through profiles and sizes at the quote to suit the room's proportions.
Can coving hide cracks between the wall and ceiling?
Yes — that wall-to-ceiling joint is a common crack point, and coving neatly bridges and disguises it. We fix, fill and caulk it so it stays crack-free.
What size coving suits my room?
As a rule, bigger rooms with high ceilings take deeper coving (135–170mm), while standard rooms suit 90–127mm. We'll recommend a size that looks balanced rather than over- or under-scaled.
Can you fit a ceiling rose too?
Yes — a plaster ceiling rose around a light or pendant is a lovely period touch, and we can fit one to match your coving or cornice.
